A Little Bit of Lace

Lizzy let the sales clerk talk her in to it.  She had told the woman there was no point, yet the sales clerk insisted that she should try it.  She told Lizzy that she should do it for herself.  The persistent clerk said that she might really like the fit and that it would likely make her feel sexy simply wearing it.  Considering that as a Pretty Panties Club member it was free, Lizzy eventually gave in.  She put the hot pink, lacy thong in the drawer thinking it would live a long boring life there.  Lizzy wasn't sure exactly why she decided to try it on today but she had.  She couldn't believe it, it was actually way more comfortable than she would ever have thought.  And as for the feeling sexy part, maybe there was some truth to it.  Maybe it really did make her feel flirtatiously feminine and it was showing.  Why else would Nathan the waiter keep looking at her that way.  He seemed so "out of her league" yet he kept giving her that smile that made her insides flip flop.  She convinced herself that it was all nonsense. Notions of the hunky waiter being interested in her was crazy.  Ideas that it had anything to do with barely wearing lacy pink underwear was ridiculous.  It all seemed like utter foolishness until she opened the little black notebook to retrieve the bill. Instead of a bill there was a note that simply read "'PAID - Nathan."

  1. WHY SO MANY DOCTRINES? BY STEVE FINNELL

Why are there so many different doctrines taught in churches that claim to be churches of the Lord Jesus Christ? One reason is that the majority of those who claim Jesus as Lord and Savior do not believe that the Bible is the accurate word of God. That is an undeniable fact.

If you do not trust that the Bible is the accurate word of God, then you are at the mercy of denominational church teachings. Are Bible commentaries, church creed books, and books written about the Bible more trustworthy than the Bible?

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. (NKJV)

When men deny that the Bible is God's accurate word, how can they put their trust in Him? They are by default putting their trust in church leaders, church creed books, Bible commentaries, and other extra-Scriptural sources.

Proverbs 30:6 Do not add to His words, Lest He reprove you, and you be found a liar.(NKJV)

If you are trusting a church creed book that changes the word of God, will you be reproved by God and found to be a liar? If your creed book does not change the teachings of the Bible, then why would you need a creed book? Why not simply trust the written word of God?

In the final analysis men have to trust the Bible to be the accurate word of God or they have to trust man-made doctrines as their rules for faith and practice.
